Meet Paul Hofmeister
Paul Hofmeister graduated from Wray High School, Wray, Colorado in 1971.
He obtained his B.A. degree with high distinction from Colorado State
University in 1975. In 1978, he graduated from the University Of Nebraska
School Of Law with distinction. Paul was
inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 1975. In 1976, he received the George L.
DeLacy Memorial Award from the University of Nebraska presented to the
law student excelling in constitutional
law. He was also a member of the Nebraska Law Review and Order of the Coif.
While in law school, Paul published two (2) legal articles: (1)
Note, Intermunicipal Remedy for Discrimination in Public Housing, 56 Nebraska
Law Review 723 (1977); and (2)
Federal App Appropriation and the Reclamation Act of 1902, 57 Nebraska
Law Review 403 (1978).
Paul has been a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association since 1978.
He was an Assistant Attorney General with the Nebraska Department of Justice
from 1978 to 1980. In 1980, Paul joined the law firm of Van Steenberg,
Chaloupka, Mullin, Holyoke, Pahlke, Smith, Snyder & Hofmeister in
Scottsbluff, Nebraska. From 2001 to 2010, Paul was associated with the
law firm of Chaloupka, Holyoke, Hofmeister, Snyder & Chaloupka. In
January, 2010, Paul became a Vice-President and General Counsel for Regional
West Health Services in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. In July, 2014, Paul joined
the Scottsbluff law firm of Smith, Snyder, Petitt, Hofmeister & Snyder.
Paul continues to provide General Counsel services to Regional West Health Services.
During his career, Paul has been the President of several local charitable
institutions in the Scottsbluff area including the Scottsbluff-Gering
United Way, Panhandle Substance Abuse Council, Friends of Agate Fossil
Beds, Inc., Scottsbluff YMCA and the Scottsbluff High School Booster Club.
Paul is currently a member of Rotary and on the Board of Directors of
the Regional West Foundation, Scotts Bluff Country Club and Regional Care,
Inc. He is also the Chairman of the Claims Committee of the Rocky Mountain
Risk Retention Group.
Paul's areas of legal practice include banking, health law, business
transactions (corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships,
etc.), real estate, commercial and contract litigation, divorce, worker's
compensation, personal injury, probate and estate planning.
